Prof. Achal Gulati after graduating from the University of Delhi, did his post graduation from the prestigious PGIMER,
Chandigarh and is currently working as the Director Professor of ENT at the Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.
A fellow of the International Medical Science Academy, he has all-round varied interests ranging from professional excellence in the field of Head and Neck Surgery and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery to the field of Medical education.
A pioneer in the development of the OSCE model of evaluation at the Post Graduate examination level, a keen and professional quizmaster at National and International level, a food and travel critique writer, he has over 35 indexed national and international academic publications, has contributed chapters in various text books, has developed numerous CD’s on examination techniques for the NBE and has also produced and directed a documentary film titled “To be or not to be” which is based on end of life issues.
He has been awarded numerous orations and awards, including the “National Eminent teacher of Excellence Award” by the Government of Indai, the “State Award for contribution to the field of medicine”, has been associated closely with the MCI and the NBE, is an invited faculty member at various National and International training workshops, is a member of the Post graduate committee of the MCI, is a member of the board of research studies of various universities, a member of the Specialty Board for ENT in the NBE, is an advisor to the Centre on Noise Pollution, has been involved in numerous committees on curriculum revision and planning for the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the MCI and the NBE and is on the editorial board of National and International journals.
Apart from being a member of various professional academic bodies, he is closely associated with the International Rhinologic Society, and has been the President and Secretary of the AOI (Delhi State), and the Honorary Secretary of the All India Rhinology Society.
