Prof. Dr. Gabriela Kopacheva-Barsova, MD, PhD,
Dr. Gabriela Kopacheva-Barsova, enrolles at the Faculty of Medicine in 1988 in Skopje, and graduates in 1994, with 9.00 average. During 1995, she finishes full-time internship and passes the medical licensing exam.
- From the beginning of her career she is working at the ENT University Hospital, University campus “St. Mother Theresa” in Skopje, North Macedonia.
- In 1996, she starts working at the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic in Skopje, and begins specializing in otorhinolaryngology which she successfully finishes in 1999. In 1997, she obtains the title of Young Assistant of Otorhinolaryngology, and after passing the specialization exam becomes a Teaching Assistant at the Department of ORL, thus obtaining a 25 years working experience.
- In 2004, she finishes postgraduate studies at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, in the field of allergology and immunology with her Master thesis “The Role of Nasal Topical Corticosteroids in the Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis. Their Effects on Nasal Inflammatory Cells and Mucosis”. Thus, she obtains a title Master of Otorhinolaryngology.
- In april 2014, she defensed her doctorate dissertation on the topic of ”Evaluation of the Postoperative Results in Patients for Septorhinoplastic”, which she has to present by the end of 2013.
Scientific and scholarly activities
- 2000, professional 3 months stay at the Department of Rhinosinusology at the ORL Clinic Dajgzih in Roterdam, within the Erazmus University in Roterdam. The purpose of the stay has been to provide promotion and training regarding the new methods in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, as well as nasal and paranasal sinuses ailments.
- 2001, professional 2 months stay at the Department of Rhinosinusology at the ORL Clinic in Ulm, Germany. The purpose of the stay has been to provide promotion and training regarding the methods in rhinosurgery, especially functional and esthetic surgery, as well as nasal and paranasal sinuses ailments.
- 2002, another professional 3 months stay at the Department of Rhinosinusology at the ORL Clinic in Ulm, Germany. The purpose of the stay has been to provide promotion and training regarding the methods in rhinosurgery, especially functional and esthetic surgery, as well as nasal and paranasal sinuses ailments.
- 2005, professional 10 day stay in Milano, Italy, participating in a course “Milano Masterclass” for acquiring training in the field of functional and esthetic surgery.
- 2011, professional 10 day stay in Zagreb, at the clinic hospital “Sestre Milosrdnice”, in order to observe the implementaion of new techniques in the field of rhino/sinus surgery.
- Lecturer (as a professor) at numerous conferences on a European and global level in the field of functional and esthetic rhinosurgery.
- in addition, Dr. Gabriela Kopacheva-Barsova has been actively participating in simposiums and she is in the Board of Balkan Rhinoforum meeting, and in the Board of North Macedonian ENT asociatiotn. She is invited speker at the conferences in North Macedonia and abroad by presenting her scientific research papers and scholarly articles.
- A member of the European Rhinologic Association, at the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, and also a member of the Macedonian ORL Association.
- Also, as a Professor of ENT she is included in studies end educating students on Medical faculty “St. Cirylus and Methodius” in Skopje, North Macedonia.
